Diwali-Other Side Of Light

“Happiness comes along with tears,
Whatever the amount is; more or less,
Festival is not a Reason to be happy,
It a medium to share care and happiness”

Today is diwali, a festival of lights, a festival of relationship, a festival of sharing, a festival of caring. From every innocent child to every matured aged person, everyone has a different motive, meaning and moral of this festival. I have heard many times from my elders, my teachers, and my colleagues that diwali is a festival to refresh your life. Diwali is a festival to forget all bad days one has faced in his/her past, diwali is a medium to get connected with all actively or passively. Diwali is a day when individuals get connected with each other with a bond called “Brotherhood”.

What we generally do in diwali? Cleaning our houses, decorating it with lights and lamps, buying sweets and crackers for family, relative visits, lunch-dinner in hotels and a movie. That’s it right? Ask anyone and you will have this answer in 80% cases. What is the motive of festival? Self enjoyment and self satisfaction? If this is the motive then why we are lecturing about brotherhood and unity on such days. Why we all are showing off. Why we all are having such a rigid thinking and a rigid way of selfishness.

World have became busy and so we all have. But on such occasions cant we spent some time with them who don’t have anyone with whom they can share their life, their happiness, their sadness, their wishes, and their dreams. Can’t we have time to respect the dissimilarity god has created in between. Compare your child with the orphan living in an orphanage. Compare your child’s dreams with his dreams. There is no difference as far as dreams are concerned. Can’t we share love and care we are giving to our family? There are some global responsibilities god has allotted to us and we should respect them but we are not. We have become selfish and self concerned.

Fire work is not only the way to convey how much happy you are. Can’t we reduce our expenses and can’t we spend money for them who all are poor of money. If we can’t spend money for them then we all are also poor, poor of mind. I have seen many people wasting lots of money behind useless crackers but if we ask them for charity they will bluntly say: - “I have earned money by hard work; I can’t spend it behind those useless people-baggers. They are not baggers, they are strugglers.

"ये ज़िन्दगी भी खुदा का बनाया कैसा खेल है, जहा दिलों के मेल है वही आज हर दिल में मैल है"

One more thing I have in my mind which is forcing me to think. These days we all are aware with global warming and we all are arguing and suggesting so many things to avoid it and save the world. But when the thing is related to self enjoyment, maturity disappears suddenly. We can’t we control ourselves. Can’t we reduce fire work as wise or otherwise it is creating problem with our environment. We have to sacrifice for our future. We have to sacrifice for thousands of next sunrises. We have to save our world. It is in our hand.

By pointing out these many mistakes of world and by suggesting these many suggestions, I don’t want to prove anything. I am also a human and belonging to the same category, the world belongs to. But we have to think. We have to remove rigidity. We have to live for others too. World is dying day by day and if we have to survive we have to provide pillars of care, brotherhood, humanity, maturity, self awareness and love to support our world. To secure our world. We all love sunrise but for that we have to maintain the brightness of sun. We have to maintain the cleanliness the sunrise has.

A Slap: - I was walking by road side where a child was talking to his mother. He was questioning to his mother. His question was: - “what is happiness”. His mother smiled and replied: - “dear son, for the comfort of this cruel world we have sacrificed . I know you are hungry and crying. But every tear has a reason. And that reason, that thing we have sacrificed for this world is Happiness. “They all are happy by force and we are sad by choice”

that's it.
